Bernanke Vote: The Good, the Bad and the Dickless (list – 38 are AWOL!!!!!)

In Open Thread on Sunday, January 24, 2010 at 2:31 am

Big Thanks to Sonic Ninja Kitty for providing updated, more organized info:  John Coryn (R- TX) is no longer AWOL; He has come out against Bernanke!  Please check out Sonic’s blog   for a fresh look at everything from Central Banking to Pilates.

The Real Time Economics  blog at the Wall Street Journal, headed by Phil Izzo and Sudeep Reddy has produced the most complete tally of the state of the Ben Bernanke Senate confirmation vote I have seen.  So I’m stealing it.  The complete article can be found here.

The most shocking aspect of the upcoming Bernanke Confirmation vote is that 38 37 US Senators have thusfar refused to divulge their intentions; 20 Senators have declared themselves undecided.

Ben Bernanke’s job description is four sentences long.  He ignored his marching orders and the entire financial system essentially collapsed because of his incompetance.  The titans of Wall Street have become the beneficiaries of the biggest welfare scheme ever conceived and Ben Bernanke has become the architect of what can only be described as the “generational rape” of America.  Of course the banksters love him.

They also have a very good Q & A with Oregon Senator Jeff Merkley.  Merkley was the only Democrat on the Senate Banking Committee to oppose the Bernanke confirmation.  Merkley displays the kind of clear-headed thinking that has become so rare in Washington.  It is also noteworthy to mention that Merkley’s “No” vote seems independant of the so-called populist outrage striking fear in the hearts of many of his colleauges.  He does not face re-election until 2014.

Merkley defeated Republican incumbent Gordon H. Smith in 2008 despite raising less than half of his opponent in campaign contributions.  Again, that Q & A can be found here.

I don’t know about you, but I find the group that doesn’t feel the need to communicate to their intentions to those they supposedly represent the most despicable.  If you don’t like your clown’s Senator’s position you can track them down here.

I’ll try to keep updating this list……

  1. […] bad, and gutless.  Find out which kind YOU have from this great article by Mark McHugh, either via Across the Street or Daily […]

  2. OMG–you are too hilarious!! And WAY too kind 🙂

  3. […] lousy job Bernanke has been doing, they’d kick him out on his keister pronto.  The fact that they are coming around–well, sort of–one by one is good, yes, but IMHO, this should be a resounding “NO” vote on Bernanke’s […]
